MANNY MOREIRA, considers his proudest professional achievement to be an unwavering commitment to promoting the “Return of Elegance” as founder and producing artistic director of the NEW DECO   ORCHESTRA. He is a Brazilian/American, Juilliard trained conductor, guitarist, vocalist, composer, arranger and producer. Throughout his career he has performed on five continents including a month long tour of Africa for which he was selected from a nation-wide competition as a Latin Jazz Ambassador by the United States Department of State and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is a veteran of 5 national tours and 4 multiple TONY award winning Broadway shows including IN THE HEIGHTS which won 4 TONY'S including BEST MUSICAL. He worked for 4 years with TONY, EMMY, GRAMMY and PULITZER prize winner, LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA. He was the original guitarist for the show beginning with the OFF B'Way production through the entire B'Way run of 1,185 performances and also appears in the film version directed by Jon Chu. Other B’way shows include: The WHO’S, TOMMY; ELTON JOHN’S, AIDA; SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE; and BLOOD BROTHERS with HELEN REDDY with whom he later toured. Among his touring career was The BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS with ACADEMY AWARD winner, ANN-MARGRET with whom he also appeared as a principal on stage guitarist, performer and vocalist. He has performed multiple times at many performing arts centers nationally including: the Denver Center, the Broward, the Arsht, the Kravis, Lincoln Center with Brazilian opera star and TONY award winner Paulo Szot for whom he also wrote orchestrations, and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, where he has performed dozens of times. His recording career includes the GRAMMY award winning show album of IN THE HEIGHTS; PARAISO, with GRAMMY winner and jazz legend, Gerry Mulligan and with whom he collaborated on the arrangements. Most recently he co-produced the critically acclaimed album SAVOY, for 3 time GRAMMY winner and iconic blues master, TAJ MAHAL with his friend and colleague, legendary producer John Simon. His original composition CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK, aired nationally on CBS television, Christmas Day 2003 and he was the guitarist for the last 3 seasons of the worldwide broadcast animated children’s television series, DORA THE EXPLORER. For two years he was the principal music director for the global corporate events company Barkley Kalpack, in NYC where he collaborated with the creative team including the resident director of the LION KING conceiving and producing events for clients nationally and internationally such as MASTERCARD, PFIZER, SUNTRUST, SAMSUNG and many others. After a fulfilling and varied 35 years living and working in New York City, he relocated in 2018 to Vero Beach, FL where he is a veteran of 9 shows at Florida’s largest producing regional theatre, RIVERSIDE THEATRE. He was the guitarist for the workshop of the show ON YOUR FEET in NYC prior to it's Broadway run where he worked with Latin Pop legends GLORIA and EMILIO ESTEFAN along with members of MIAMI SOUND MACHINE. Studies include: Jazz guitar with virtuoso Pat Martino; Orchestral conducting with maestro, Vincent LaSelva at the Juilliard School in NYC; acting and scene study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London with renowned acting teacher, Lloyd Trott and voice with the great, Jim Carson in NYC. He is a longtime member of the American Federation of Musicians; Actors Equity Association; the Writers Guild of America and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

Gloria Estefan came to see my first gig in Vero Beach in 2018. I worked with her and Emilio on the Broadway Lab for ON YOUR FEET in NYC

With Lin-Manuel Miranda celebrating our first year on Broadway with IN THE HEIGHTS. It won 4 TONY awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Orchestrations, Best Choreography and a GRAMMY.  I did the Off Broadway run, the Broadway run, the show album, the end of the first national tour, a run at the Kennedy Center and the movie...what journey!

In the studio 2022 co-producing the critically acclaimed album SAVOY with legendary producer John Simon and blues icon and three time GRAMMY winner Taj Mahal. Truly a peak life experience working between these two geniuses!
